ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Land banking

Land banking is when people buy land and then hold onto it without using it. They might either wait to make a profit when they sell it later, or they might use it to build something down the road, like houses or businesses. It's like they're putting money in a bank and holding onto it until they need it. It can be risky, though, because land can go up and down in value, just like money in a bank can go up and down.
