Laser beam machining

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a really cool flashlight that shoots out a very powerful beam of light. Now, instead of using it to play shadow puppets on the wall, let's use it to cut through different materials like metal, plastic or even diamond!

This is what we call laser beam machining. It's when we use a special kind of light called a laser to cut, engrave or shape different kinds of materials. The laser is a special kind of light that is very powerful and focused which means it can cut through things like butter.

The laser is made up of a special material that is electrically charged and when it's turned on, it sends out a beam of light that is so strong that it can melt and vaporize the material it touches. This is because the laser is really hot and it moves very fast, so it can cut through things in a very precise way.

The materials that can be cut with laser beam machining include metals, plastics, ceramics, and even some kinds of rock. It's used for many things like making decorations, custom signs, metal parts, medical devices, and even cutting through diamonds!

So, laser beam machining is like using a special kind of flashlight to cut through things with great precision and without making a mess. Cool, right?
