Lent

Lent is a special time in the Christian calendar. It is the 40 days leading up to Easter and is a time of preparation and reflection. During Lent, many Christians give up something—like eating a certain food or watching TV—as a way of practicing self-control and showing their faith. Lent is also a time to help those in need and to focus on being kind and loving.
