Lesbian erasure

It's when people ignore or try to hide the fact that lesbian people exist. For example, when people tell stories about LGBTQ people, they might only talk about gay or trans people, but not lesbians. Or when people talk about couples, they might only show a man and a woman even though some couples have two women. Lesbian erasure happens when people pretend like lesbians don't exist, even though they do. It can be very hurtful and make people feel like they don't matter.
