Limbing

Limbing is the process of cutting off branches from a tree. Trees have branches that grow out from their trunk and these branches help the tree grow and reach the sunlight it needs to produce food. However, sometimes these branches can get too big or too low and can interfere with things like buildings, power lines, or people's paths.

When we want to remove these branches, we use something called a chainsaw, which is a very loud and powerful tool that cuts through the wood. A person who is trained to use the chainsaw carefully and safely will climb up the tree using special equipment and begin to carefully cut off the branches that are causing problems. The person doing the limbing will make sure to only remove the branches that need to be taken off, leaving the rest of the tree intact.

After the branches have been cut off, they are usually cleaned up and either taken away or used as firewood. Limbing can be a dangerous job, so it's important to always have someone who is properly trained and experienced do it to keep everyone safe.
