ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Linear logic

Linear logic is a type of logical thinking. It means that you can only move from one thought or opinion to the next one in a straight line. This means that when you are making a decision, you start at one point, and then you think about it one step at a time until you reach the end. For example, if you wanted to decide what to have for breakfast, you could start at the beginning (what do I like for breakfast?) and then take one step at a time to narrow down your options. Maybe you start by thinking about the types of food you like, then narrow it down to what foods are healthy, and then list the meals that fit these criteria. Finally, you make your decision to have a specific breakfast. With linear logic, you don't jump straight to the conclusion, but instead you slowly build up to it.
