Longtang

Longtang is a type of neighborhood in China that is usually found in big cities like Shanghai. It's kind of like a neighborhood within a neighborhood, where there are lots of little streets and alleys that all connect together.

Longtang houses are usually small and narrow, and they are built right next to each other. Sometimes they are so close together that you can reach out and touch the wall of the house next to you! People who live in longtang houses often share a courtyard or a common area where they can hang out and chat with their neighbors.

One thing that makes longtang neighborhoods different from other types of neighborhoods is that they are built in a very old-fashioned way. Instead of having big, fancy buildings with elevators and lots of space, longtang houses are built on a much smaller scale. This is because the neighborhoods were built a long time ago, when people didn't have as much money and technology as we do today.

Even though longtang neighborhoods might seem old-fashioned and cramped, many people still love living in them. That's because they are located right in the heart of the city, which makes it easy to get to work or go shopping. Plus, because everyone lives so close together, people tend to know their neighbors really well and look out for each other.
