Los Alamos National Laboratory

Los Alamos National Laboratory is a research lab run by the United States government. It is located in New Mexico and was built in 1943 to help the US build the first atomic bomb (or nuclear weapons). Scientists from all over the world work at Los Alamos to develop innovative technology and find solutions to the world's most difficult problems - everything from cleaning up the environment to national security. They also study nuclear physics and materials science, develop new medicine, and explore space.
