Have you ever had a friend or sibling that you really like to play with but sometimes they make you very mad? That's a little bit like a love-hate relationship. Love-hate means you have strong feelings of both liking and disliking someone or something.
It's like when you have a favorite toy. You love playing with it and you don't want to let it go. But then, something bad happens and it breaks! Suddenly, you get really angry at it and start hating it. Then you might try to fix it or think about throwing it away. But then, you remember how much fun you had with it and start loving it again. That's a love-hate relationship with a toy.
Sometimes people have love-hate relationships with someone they know well. Maybe you really like being around them, but then they do something that hurts your feelings or makes you mad. You might get very angry and start hating them, but then you remember all the good times you had together and start loving them again.
It's OK to have a love-hate relationship with someone or something. Just remember that it's important to talk about your feelings and let them know when they hurt you. And even though there might be times when you don't like them very much, you still care about them and want to be friends with them.
