Madonna–whore complex

The Madonna–whore complex is an idea in psychology that suggests some men have difficulty seeing women as anything other than either a "Madonna" (a pure, virtuous person) or a "whore" (a promiscuous or immoral person). It is thought to be a result of beliefs and attitudes about gender, sexuality, and relationships that were taught to people when they were children.
