Lunar module

A lunar module is like a robot house that is built for humans to go to the moon. It looks like a big spider with long legs that can land gently on the moon's surface.

Inside the lunar module, there are two parts - the ascent stage and the descent stage. The descent stage is the bottom part and the one that lands on the moon. It has powerful rockets to slow down as it lands and great legs to keep it steady.

The ascent stage is the top part that sits on the descent stage like a hat. It has a door that opens to the surface of the moon and a ladder so astronauts can climb down to the moon.

When astronauts are done exploring the moon, they climb back up the ladder, and the ascent stage takes them back up into space to join their friends in the spaceship. It's like a fancy elevator that goes up and down from the moon!
