Lying by omission

Lying by omission is when you don't tell the truth by not saying something. It means you try to deceive someone by leaving out important information and not telling them the whole truth. For example, your friend asks you if you like their new shirt. You don't want to hurt their feelings by saying you don't like it, so instead of saying you don't like it you don't say anything at all. That's an example of lying by omission.
