Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a map? It's something that helps us find our way around by showing us where things are. Well, scientists wanted to make a map of a planet called Venus because it is covered in thick clouds and we can't see it very well from Earth.
So they designed a spacecraft called the Magellan Probe that they sent up into space to go to Venus. It was like a really cool robot that can fly in space and take pictures of the planet. It had a big antenna that could send information back to Earth.
Once it got to Venus, it started to orbit around it like how we go around the sun. While it was orbiting, it took lots and lots of pictures of the planet's surface and sent them back to Earth. This helped the scientists make a map of Venus and learn more about what it's like.
The Magellan Probe also used special equipment to measure the temperature, the atmosphere, and the gravity of Venus. This helped the scientists understand more about this planet too.
The Magellan Probe worked really hard for a long time, but eventually, it stopped working and we couldn't hear from it anymore. But the scientists are still using all the information it sent back to us to learn more about Venus and keep exploring space.
