Maglev (magnetic levitation) is a kind of train that uses magnets to float in the air instead of running on wheels like regular trains. The train has powerful magnets on the bottom and there is also a set of magnets on the track that the train runs on. The magnets on the train force it upwards and away from the track and this creates a kind of floating effect. This makes the train smoother and faster than regular trains because there is less friction between the track and the train.
