A majority government is when the political party that wins the most seats in an election forms the government. To win a majority government, a political party must win more than half of the seats in the legislature. When a party has more seats than any other party, they are said to have a majority. With a majority, this party has a lot of power to pass legislation and make important decisions. In a majority government, the party with the most seats chooses the Prime Minister or President, who leads the government.
