Majority rule

Majority rule is a way to make decisions in a group by taking a vote.

Imagine you and your friends want to decide what game to play. One friend wants to play hide-and-seek, another friend wants to play tag, and you want to play hopscotch.

If you use majority rule, everyone gets to vote on their favorite game. To win, a game needs more than half of the votes. So if there are three people total, two votes would be needed to win.

Let's say two friends voted for hide-and-seek, and you voted for hopscotch. That means the game with the most votes is hide-and-seek, so that's the game you all will play.

It's not always fair, because sometimes someone's favorite choice may not win. But using majority rule helps make decisions when there are a lot of different opinions.
