Male gaze

Male gaze means when someone looks at something, mostly women and other people who identify as female, in a sexual way. It is something that happens more often to women because they are seen as objects or something to be looked at. For example, in a movie, a female character might be shown in a way that is meant to look good to the person watching the movie, even if it has nothing to do with the story. This is called the male gaze and it is a way of making sure that women are seen as objects instead of people.
