Malinchism

Malinchism refers to the act of being disloyal to one's own country or culture and instead favoring or being loyal to a foreign country or culture. It is named after a historical figure named Malinche, who was a native woman from Mexico who facilitated the Spanish conquest of her own land. Malinchism can be seen as a betrayal because it involves choosing to support outsiders instead of your own people.

Imagine if you were part of a group that is working really hard to build a treehouse. But then, a new kid moves in and offers you candy to help him build his own treehouse. If you help the new kid instead of continuing to work with your friends, that would be like malinchism. You would be choosing to betray your friends and your common goal. Instead of helping each other, you would be helping an outsider.

In the same way, malinchism happens when a person puts their loyalty to a different country or culture above their own, even if it means betraying their own people. It can be harmful because it can break down the trust and unity within a community.
