Manananggal

A manananggal is a scary creature from Filipino folklore that is said to look like a woman from the waist up, but with wings and the ability to detach her upper body from her lower half.

It is believed that the manananggal comes out at night to prey on pregnant women and their unborn babies by using its sharp teeth and long tongue to suck their blood.

The creature is said to be afraid of garlic, salt, vinegar, and the Catholic cross. It is also believed that it can be killed by finding its lower half which is left behind when it flies away and sprinkling salt or ash on it.

Although many people may find the manananggal scary, it's important to remember that it's only a legend and not real.
