Martha Parke Custis

Martha Parke Custis was a girl who lived a long time ago, around 250 years ago. She was the step-granddaughter of the very famous first president of the United States, George Washington.

Before she was born, Martha's mom, Martha Dandridge Custis, was married to someone else. But when he passed away, she was really sad and didn't want to be alone forever. So she ended up marrying George Washington! He became Martha's step-grandfather, and even though they weren't related by blood, they were still part of the same big family.

Martha lived in a big house with George Washington and her grandma, and she had a lot of toys to play with. She loved spending time with her grandma and playing with her dolls. She also liked animals, and there were lots of horses and dogs on the property she could play with.

Even though she was just a kid, Martha was really important because of her connection to George Washington. People would come from far away just to meet her and her family. Sometimes, she would help her grandma host fancy parties for important people.

When Martha grew up, she ended up marrying a man named Thomas Peter and had children of her own. She lived a long and happy life, remembering the special times she had as a child with her grandparents, including the very famous George Washington.
