ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Maryannu

Maryannu refers to a type of soldier or warrior that lived a really long time ago in a far-off land called Mesopotamia. These soldiers were really special because they belonged to the upper class of society and they were really well trained in fighting. They were kind of like knights or samurais from other parts of the world.

Maryannu soldiers were really good at riding horses and fighting with swords and bows and arrows. They were so good, in fact, that they were often hired by kings and other important people to protect them and fight their battles. You could think of them as like bodyguards for important people.

What's really interesting about Maryannu is that they had special armor and weapons that they used in battle. Their armor was made of really strong materials like metal and leather, and it covered their whole body to protect them from getting hurt. They also had special swords that were really sharp, and bows and arrows that were really accurate.

So, to sum it up, Maryannu soldiers were a group of really skilled and respected warriors who were experts in horse-riding and fighting. They were hired by important people to protect them and they had special armor and weapons to help them do their job.
