ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mathematical chemistry

Mathematical chemistry is when we use maths to try and figure things out about molecules, which are made up of different atoms. We use maths to work out how many atoms are connected, or how the atoms can bond together in different ways to make different kinds of molecules. We also use maths to try and figure out how different molecules will interact with each other, which can help us understand how things like medicines and materials are made.
