ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mechanical mouse

A mechanical mouse is a small device that helps you move the pointer, or arrow, on your computer screen. It works by being connected to the computer through a cord, and by moving a ball or a roller underneath the body of the mouse.

When you move the mouse across a surface, the ball or roller turns and this movement is converted into electrical signals that tell the computer how the pointer should move on the screen. The faster you move the mouse, the faster the pointer moves on the screen.

If the ball or roller in the mouse gets dirty or stuck, it can affect the movement of the pointer on the screen. To fix this, you can clean it by removing the ball or roller and wiping it with a cloth.

Overall, a mechanical mouse is a simple and effective way to navigate your computer screen using physical movements.
