ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Memory bias

Memory bias is like a trick your brain plays on you. It's when your brain remembers something from the past, but it changes it so that it doesn't match what really happened. For example, if you saw someone do something embarrassing, you might remember it differently the next time you think about it. Instead of remembering that the person was embarrassed, you might remember them in a more positive light like as if they were confident. Memory bias can also make it hard to remember every detail of an event.
