ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mental chronometry

Mental chronometry is a way that scientists can measure how quickly your brain is able to think. To do this, they give you tasks that you have to do in your head, and they measure how much time it takes you to finish the task. For example, they might ask you to add up a bunch of numbers, and they would measure how long it takes you to figure out the answer. Then, they can compare how long it took you to how long it would take the average person, to see if your brain is faster or slower than the average.
