Mesoamerican agriculture

Mesoamericans were people who lived in parts of Central and South America a long time ago. They were very good farmers and grew their own food. To do this, they used a technique called "mesoamerican agriculture." This meant that they carefully used the land to grow crops, built canals and blasted rocks to make the soil more fertile. They used special tools to harvest the crops and were very good at using the resources they had. They ate a lot of beans, corn, squash and chilies, and they sometimes traded with other people to get different kinds of food.
