ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Methodic doubt

Methodic doubt is a way of thinking that helps us figure out the truth. It says that if something isn't proved to be true, then it might not be true. To use methodic doubt, you need to be curious and ask questions: Is this really true? How do I know that this is true? Methodic doubt helps us figure out what is really true and what isn't.
