Methylene group

Okay, so you know how everything is made up of little things called atoms, right? And sometimes, some atoms join together to make bigger things called molecules.

Well, in some molecules, you might see a group of atoms that looks like this: CH2. That's called a methylene group.

Basically, it's just a group of one carbon atom and two hydrogen atoms stuck together. And it's kind of special because it's very important in lots of different chemicals that we use in all kinds of things, like medicine, plastic, and even gasoline for cars!

So, although it might seem like a small and simple thing, the methylene group is actually really important in the world around us!
