Millstone

A millstone is like a really big, heavy rock that is used to grind things like grain into flour. It looks kind of like a disk or wheel with a hole in the middle. The millstone is usually made of two parts, called the "bedstone" and the "runner stone", which fit together and spin around really fast to grind up the grain. People have been using millstones for thousands of years to make flour and other food products. They were especially important in olden times when there weren't as many machines to do work for us, and people had to rely on their own physical strength and technology to get things done. Though they may not be used as much now, they are still an important part of history and an interesting invention to learn about.
