ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mineral (nutrient)

Minerals are tiny things that our body needs to stay healthy and strong. They are like little building blocks that make our bones, muscles, and organs work properly.

Some of the important minerals include calcium, which helps our bones grow and stay strong; iron, which helps our blood carry oxygen; and potassium, which helps our muscles work well.

We get minerals by eating certain foods like green vegetables, nuts, and dairy products. If we don't get enough of these foods, our body might not have enough minerals to work properly. That's why it's important to eat a balanced diet with lots of different types of foods.
