Mobile number portability

Have you ever moved to a new house and you wanted to keep your old phone number? It's just like that but for phones!

Mobile number portability, or MNP for short, means you can switch from one mobile service provider to another and still keep your phone number.

So, let's say you have a phone number with Provider A but you want to switch to Provider B because they have a better plan or service that you like. With MNP, you can take your phone number with you!

Here's how it works:

1. First, you need to tell Provider B that you want to switch to them and keep your current phone number.

2. Provider B will then ask you for some information like your name, address, and phone number.

3. Provider B will then contact Provider A and ask for permission to switch your phone number over to their network.

4. The regulatory body in charge of phone services will be involved as well, they will make sure that Provider A complies with the request.

5. Once Provider A confirms that you are authorized to switch your number to Provider B, your phone number will be transferred over to Provider B's network.

6. And voila! You now have your same phone number but with Provider B's services.

Basically, mobile number portability allows you to switch to a different mobile provider but keep your same phone number. This helps make it easier for you to switch providers when you find a better deal or plan that suits you more.
