Molecular diagnostics

Molecular diagnostics is a type of science that helps doctors to understand illnesses by looking at tiny parts inside our body called molecules. Doctors use special tools like microscopes and machines that detect light to help them see these molecules. They also use tests to detect molecules like proteins in our blood. By understanding what molecules are present, doctors can determine what type of illness a person has. Molecular diagnostics can also be used to identify which treatments might work best for a particular person.
