Monitoring and Evaluation

Monitoring and evaluation are about checking on something to see if it is going the way it's supposed to.

Imagine you are playing with blocks, trying to build a tower. You want to make sure it stays standing tall and straight, so you keep checking it regularly. This is monitoring. You are keeping an eye on the tower to make sure it's not falling down, and you can fix it if it starts to wobble.

Now imagine you are done building the tower and you want to show it to your friend. You want to make sure your tower is the tallest and the best it can be, so you take a step back and look at it from different angles. You notice some parts are not straight and some blocks are missing. So, you take the time to fix it until it looks the best it can. This is evaluation.

Monitoring and evaluation are important because they help us make things the best they can be. They help us to see what is working well and what can be improved. It can be used in many areas like school, work or even when building things. By monitoring and evaluating, we can make sure everything is going in the right direction and make improvements when necessary.
