Motivations of Wikipedia contributors

Wikipedia contributors, also known as editors, are people who work to make the online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, better by adding new information or editing existing information. Their motivation for doing this is usually because they have a passion for a certain subject, think that a certain article needs to be improved, or have knowledge that would be useful to add to an article. They also care about helping other people by providing them with accurate and up-to-date information.
