Muckraker

A muckraker is someone who looks into a problem and then writes or talks about it so that people will know what is happening and maybe work to fix it. The word comes from an old story about a farmer who used a rake to dig through dirt and mud until he found something valuable! In the same way, a muckraker looks through all the dirt and mess to find something wrong and then tells everyone about what they found so that it can be fixed.
