Nalukataq

Nalukataq is a special celebration that happens in Alaska, where people who live there have been for a long long time. It's a party for a special time of the year called "whaling season", when people go out and hunt for whales to feed their families and community.

During nalukataq, people have a big feast with lots of food like fish and berries, and they also take whale meat and share it with everyone. They play games and dance too! In the game called "blanket toss", one person will sit on a blanket that is stretched out tight, and other people will grab the edges of the blanket and toss the person up into the air.

Overall, nalukataq is a special way for Alaska natives to come together, celebrate their culture and community, and remember the important traditions that have been passed down for generations.
