Nanpō Islands

Nanpō Islands is a group of islands in Japan that are located towards the east of the main island Honshu. These islands are made up of lots of tiny pieces of land that are surrounded by the ocean.

Imagine playing with small toy parts that you connect to build something bigger, just like that these islands are made up of various small islands that when combined make up a larger group.

People live on some of these islands and these islands are important because they have resources that Japan needs, like fishing grounds, places for ships to stop during long journeys, and things that are found on the islands that Japanese people use every day.

However, these islands can be tough to live on because they are far away from Japan's mainland and are prone to natural disasters, like earthquakes and typhoons, which make it difficult for people to access and enjoy them.
