National interest

National interest is what is best for a country. It is a way for the government to make sure that everyone in the country is doing well and that the country is safe. Sometimes, a country has to make decisions that might make one group of people unhappy, but it is the best choice for the whole country. For example, if a country needs to use its money to build an army to protect itself, that might mean taking away money from schools. Even though this is not good for the students, it is important for the whole country to be safe.
