Realism (international relations)

Realism in international relations is a way of looking at the world that emphasizes the importance of power and competition among countries. It suggests that countries will always try to increase their power, even if it means going against the interests of other countries. In other words, it says that countries will do whatever they think is necessary to protect their own interests and make sure they are the strongest in the world. It also suggests that countries will always be in competition with each other and will do whatever they can to gain an advantage. Realism argues that countries should always be suspicious of each other and never expect other countries to put their interests ahead of their own.
