Nationalities in Spain

Hi kiddo! Today, we are going to talk about nationalities in Spain. Just like how you are from a family and have a name, Spain is made up of different regions that each have their own traditions and languages.

Some people in Spain identify as Spanish, but others identify as belonging to a specific region. For example, someone from Catalonia might identify as Catalan, and someone from the Basque Country might identify as Basque.

These regions are given a special status and are called "autonomous communities". They are allowed to govern themselves in certain ways and to use their own languages alongside Spanish.

However, everyone in Spain is still considered to be a Spanish citizen and has the same rights and responsibilities. So even though people might have different nationalities, they are all part of one big family that is Spain.
