Needle guard

Okay, so you know how sometimes grown-ups need to get a shot or have their blood drawn? Well, when the doctor or nurse uses a needle to do that, there is something called a needle guard that helps keep the needle safe.

A needle guard is a little device that covers up the needle when the doctor or nurse is not using it. It's kind of like a little cap that goes over the top of the needle. This is important because needles are sharp and can hurt people if they accidentally touch them.

The needle guard also helps the doctor or nurse know when it's time to throw away the needle and use a new one. Once the needle guard is put on, it can't be taken off again, so if the doctor or nurse needs to use the needle again, they have to use a new one with a new needle guard.

Overall, needle guards are important because they keep people safe and make sure that people are getting their shots and blood tests with a clean and safe needle.
