Neutron radiation

Okay kiddo, so remember when we learned about atoms? Inside every atom, there are three parts: protons, neutrons, and electrons.

Well, sometimes the nucleus of an atom can get unstable, which means it can break apart or release an extra neutron. When this happens, it creates something called neutron radiation.

Neutron radiation is a type of energy that comes from these unstable nuclei. It's not like light or sound, but it can still travel through the air and penetrate materials like walls and clothing.

Now, this kind of energy can be dangerous if you are exposed to too much of it. That's why scientists and doctors use special equipment and protective gear when working with neutron radiation.

But don't worry, we don't usually come into contact with neutron radiation in our everyday lives. It's mostly used in things like nuclear power plants and medical treatments. And when we do come across it, we have ways to protect ourselves and stay safe.
