Niddah is a Jewish law that says there are certain times when married people cannot be together. During these times, a woman is called a “niddah”. When a Jewish woman has her period, she is considered to be a niddah. During these times, couples are not supposed to touch or be close to each other. They are also not supposed to share a bed or have any physical contact. After a woman is done having her period, there is a special ritual that she and her husband do to welcome her back into the marriage. This ritual is called the “mikvah”. During the mikvah, the woman takes a special bath to symbolize her new beginning as a part of her marriage. Once the mikvah is done, the couple is free to be together again.
