Nine-segment display

So, you know how when you count, you use your fingers to show different numbers? Well, a nine-segment display is kinda like that, but instead of fingers, it uses little lines and shapes to show numbers from 0-9.

There are nine different segments on the display: one on the top, one on the bottom, and one in the middle, and then three more on each side. Each segment can light up or not light up, and depending on which ones are lit up, it creates different shapes that look like numbers.

For example, if you want to show the number "1," you would light up the segment on the bottom right side. If you want to show the number "4," you would light up the top left, middle, and bottom right segments.

People use nine-segment displays in all kinds of electronic devices, like digital clocks or calculators, to show numbers in a clear and easy-to-read way.
