ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nit (unit)

A nit is a word we use to measure how bright a light is. It's like using a ruler to measure how long something is or a scale to measure how heavy something is. Nits measure the brightness of screens like those on phones, TVs, and computer monitors. The more nits a screen has, the brighter it will be. Nits are important because they can help us see things better in bright sunlight or dimly lit rooms. Just like we need a flashlight when it's dark outside, devices with high nits can help us see things better when it's too bright or too dark.
