ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Non-Aligned Movement

The Non-Aligned Movement is like a big group of countries that decided they don't want to side with either of the two big groups of powerful countries, called superpowers, during the Cold War. They wanted to stay neutral and not take sides.

Just imagine you want to play with two different groups of friends, but they are both fighting, and you don't want to choose one over the other. That's what these countries did.

So, instead of picking a side, they came together and formed their own group, called the Non-Aligned Movement, to work together and solve problems without taking sides in the big power struggles. It was like a way for them to stay out of trouble and not get caught up in big wars or disagreements between powerful countries.

The Non-Aligned Movement still exists today, and it's like a big club of countries that share similar ideas about how to handle international relations and help each other out without getting involved in big power struggles.
