Nutritional rating systems

Okay, imagine you're shopping with your mom in a big grocery store. You see so many different kinds of food and snacks, but how do you know which ones are good for you and which ones are not?

Well, there's something called a nutritional rating system that can help you figure it out! It's like a report card for food. Just like you get grades in school, food gets grades too based on how healthy it is for you to eat.

There are different types of rating systems, but one common one is called the "Nutrition Facts" label. It's a little box on the back of most packaged foods that shows you how much calories, fat, sugar, and other things are in the food. You can look at it to see if the food has a lot of good things for your body, like vitamins and fiber, or if it has a lot of bad things, like salt and saturated fat.

Another rating system is called the "Traffic Light" system. It's like the traffic lights you see outside. Foods get a green, yellow, or red light depending on how healthy they are. Green means it's very healthy and you can eat a lot of it, yellow means it's okay to eat sometimes, and red means it's not very healthy and you should only have a little bit.

So next time you go to the grocery store, see if you can find the nutritional rating system on the foods you like. It's an easy way to make sure you're picking foods that are good for you!
