Obstruction theory

Obstruction theory is a way to understand why something might be difficult or even impossible to do. It helps us figure out what things are in the way and what we need to do to get around them.

Let's imagine you have a toy car and you want to drive it from your bedroom to the kitchen. But there's a big table in the way. You can't just drive through the table because it's blocking your path.

So, you have to think about how to go around or over the table. Maybe you can drive through another room or go outside and come in through a different door. Maybe you can climb up on a chair and then drive over the table.

Obstruction theory is like a plan or a map to figure out all the different ways you can go around an obstacle. It helps you understand which paths are possible and which are not.
