Occluded front

An occluded front happens when a warm air mass and a cold air mass run into each other, kind of like two big blobs of playdough squishing together. When this happens, the warm air moves up and over the cold air so that they mix together. This can make rain or snow happen, and sometimes even thunderstorms. Think of it like when you mix together different colors of playdough and create a new color!
