Occupational epidemiology is a type of research that studies how different jobs and workplaces can affect people's health. It looks at how a person’s job might make them more or less likely to get sick. For example, some jobs (like those in factories) can expose people to things that might make them sick, like toxic chemicals. Other jobs (like sitting at a desk all day) can lead to problems like poor circulation or sore muscles. Occupational epidemiologists look at data from large groups of people (such as surveys or records) to help figure out which jobs might be causing people to get sick.
